Local Movers-Find All About Marking Moving Boxes

Whether you are using a full service moving company or a self service company, the proper marking of boxes is important when it comes to unloading as it will be much easier to sort the boxes at destination if they are properly marked.

Start by marking the sides and top of all cartons; write on the tape after the box is sealed. In the writing describe the location of the box (master bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) and the contents. If the box contains fragile items then mark the box in large letters “FRAGILE”. It works best to put the writing face up with arrows pointing up so the movers will know which side of the box to place upward.

If you are using labels on your boxes, fill out the labels on a clean, flat surface before putting them on the boxes. Put your name and contact number (preferably a cell number) on each label and then after placing the labels on the boxes cover the labels with packing tape; this will prevent the labels from falling off during the stacking process in the truck.
