The American racing fraternity was forced to open their collective eyes and the design of the Indy cars to rear engine design which is still in use to this day. Perhaps the greatest driver of all time, Jim Clark was tragically killed at the Nurburgring in Germany in 1967 in a Formula 2 race when a deer ran across the track.
