Little Guys Movers

In 1992, three friends with Toyota pickup trucks started Little Guys Movers in Denton, Texas. Founded by Marcus Watson, along with Mike Barber and Chris Mercer, the company began with a simple idea: "do right by people and you will be rewarded." This straightforward philosophy has guided them through thirty years of growth and success. The early days weren't easy. They worked with makeshift equipment and moved their office from home to home to avoid city code enforcers. Everything changed when Chad Nichols joined the team in 1996. He brought organization and a bigger vision that helped the company grow beyond its humble start. What makes Little Guys Movers special is their unique workplace culture. They call themselves "a group of callous-handed life lovers" who see moving as more than just carrying boxes. To them, moving is about hospitality and craftsmanship – making a stressful experience better for their customers. By their tenth anniversary in 2002, they had completed almost 100,000 moves and expanded to five cities in three states. In 2004, they developed a franchise model that allowed them to grow while staying true to their community-focused approach. Today, Little Guys Movers serves customers across multiple states including Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina. Several key people shaped the company's history. Chris Hawley joined as one of the first full-time employees and later became a partner. Eric Eisenmann, after fifteen years with the company, took on a leadership role at the national headquarters. As Little Guys Movers celebrated their thirtieth anniversary in 2022, they had transformed from a small local service to a national brand. Their story shows that a business built on hard work and genuine care for customers can succeed while changing industry standards.
