How the score works

Mobile home mover profiles on LocalMovers.com can show a score from 0 to 100, a tier, and the items that helped or hurt it. These are the rules every score follows.

Tiers

  • Elite80–100
  • Reliable50–79
  • Limited20–49
  • Watchlist0–19

What can lower a score

The items listed under “Hurt their score” on a profile. We aim for each to be a negative finding in a record: for example failed or out-of-service inspections, crashes, an expired license, or a federal filing left years out of date. Every item that is not missing information (below) and not an unsourced third-party claim is listed and counted.

Complaints, allegations and third-party ratings need a source

A complaint, an allegation, a lawsuit, a BBB grade or a rating from a review site is listed only with a link to where it comes from. Without that link it is not shown and does not count.

Missing information never counts against a company

Not finding something is not a finding. None of these is listed under “Hurt their score”, and none of them counts toward a Limited or Watchlist tier:

  • No reviews, few reviews or no star rating
  • No website, social media or other online presence
  • No Google, Yelp, Facebook or BBB page, or a page that is inactive
  • Not BBB accredited (accreditation is voluntary and paid)
  • No federal safety rating (most carriers have never been rated)
  • No interstate authority or MC number (not needed for moves inside one state)
  • A license, filing or insurance record we could not verify or see
  • Too few inspections on record to judge

When we do not grade

A Limited or Watchlist tier, or any score under 50, is shown only when the profile lists at least 2 negative findings. With fewer, the profile shows “Not graded” and “Not enough evidence to grade” instead of a score, and does not list what hurt it.

Disputing a score

Every score card has a “Dispute this score” link. It opens our contact form with the company already named. Tell us what is wrong and send the record that shows it, and we will review it.
