About This Company

Since establishing their foothold in Chicago's competitive moving industry in 1982, Windy City Movers has distinguished itself through an unwavering commitment to excellence that has spanned more than four decades. Founded by Ed and Dawn Witas as a family enterprise, the company has evolved into a comprehensive moving solution provider while maintaining its personalized approach to customer service—a rare combination in today's market. Their extensive portfolio encompasses everything from residential relocations to complex commercial transitions, with specialized expertise in handling delicate items such as fine art, antiques, and musical instruments through custom crating, precision packing, and professional hoisting services. What truly sets Windy City Movers apart, however, is their dual dedication to operational excellence and community engagement, demonstrated by their consistent contributions to cancer research initiatives, children's learning disability programs, and Shriners Hospitals since 1995. They were recognized as Chicago’s #1 Senior Citizen Movers—a title earned through care, patience, and trust. Having successfully completed over 150,000 moves across more than 100 cities and earning a remarkable 90% recommendation rate, this ICC-licensed moving company continues to honor their slogan, "We Keep Chicago Moving™," not merely through the physical transportation of belongings, but through their innovative approaches to industry challenges—as evidenced by their swift adaptation to pandemic conditions with virtual estimates and enhanced safety protocols—and their steadfast support of the community that has embraced them throughout their 43-year journey.
